Square One’s proprietary manufacturing process, once patented, can be licensed to Large Industrial Partners worldwide to generate an additional revenue stream for the Company. Management plans to license up to six International Partners that have existing marketing and distribution systems in place.

Solar cells based on Square One’s “platform technology concept” can be manufactured using existing and readily available screen printing equipment.  With modular construction and proven compatibility of the individual equipment components, the Company will be able to offer Partners a “Factory-in-a-Box” solution.

Licensees can be provided with low cost turnkey production equipment through a third party equipment manufacturer.  Due to the modular nature of the production equipment which allows for multiple material throughput/flow systems, factory layouts can be easily customized to fit Partners’ available buildings.  Final packaging can be customized to an end-user’s requirement through these readily available technologies.  Installation and start up time for International Partners is expected to range from six to twelve months for each manufacturing facility.  It will be possible to have more than one Partner facility under construction at any given time.

The Company will supply the key raw materials (base film components, semiconductor formulations, cathodes, and the like) to the licensees; which will allow Square One to exercise a tight level of control on its technology platforms in addition to providing additional revenue streams.  This will also allow the Company’s International Partners to focus on the marketing and distribution functions within their operational areas while Square One maintains control of the trade secrets and focuses on continued research and development.

As global climate change impacts the way the U.S. addresses environmental policy, conducts business and harnesses energy, the solar energy industry is leading the way with a renewable energy source that creates economic growth and reduces carbon emissions. Solar is an emission-free source of electricity and hot water that can be immediately deployed to reduce the nation's growing carbon footprint.

As the federal government considers climate change legislation in the coming months and years, Congress should create carbon output-based market rules that encourage carbon-free technologies and allow energy sources such as solar to be rewarded for producing.
